These are the courses that we currently offer
 
Non-Domestic Energy Assessor
 
The NDEA diploma is studied online with full email and telephone support, and is awarded following the completion of your electronic portfolio of evidence, and passing of the ABBE examination taken as soon as you have completed module 4.
 
The course is offered in four modules, each completed with an on-line test taken at the end of the module, as soon as you consider that you are ready. These tests can be taken as many times as you need and are offered free of charge.
 
Module 1
 
This module encompasses the 'soft management' skills required within your new business, and provides the knowledge and understanding needed for you to complete your portfolio of evidence. All of your evidence is uploaded to an electronic portfolio, provided with your personal login and password.

Module 2

 
As soon as you have satisfactorily completed the first module, we introduce you to the SBEM software used to generate the commercial EPCs. Working through a series of on-line exercises at home, and at your own pace, you will quickly master this software application and produce your first commercial EPC. The module also includes two 'hands-on' half-day workshops in the Reading/Oxford/Birmingham areas when you can talk through any issues or concerns with very experienced and qualified lecturers.

  • Editing and producing the recommendation report
 
Module 3
 
Understanding the software, and developing good soft management skills, must be enhanced with a good sound appreciation of the type of property that you will be commissioned to assess. We provide you with a valuable set of online documentation, describing in excellent detail the many and varied construction types, ages, and styles of commercial and domestic properties throughout the UK. These manuals and worksheets are yours to download, generally in PDF format, to be used once you are qualified. There are a number of exercises and self study tests to help you with your understanding of the documentation, and full email and telephone support is available.

Module 4
 
This, the final module, provides you with all of the necessary information to produce your second EPC, and the first one for your portfolio of evidence.

Module 2

 
As soon as you have satisfactorily completed the first module, we introduce you to the construction styles and types that you are likely to be commissioned to assess. There is no need to fear this module if you are new to construction as the module takes you very gently through the subject areas. There is a very good set of on-line documentation that you can download for future reference.

  • Styles and construction of property through the ages
  • Hot water and heating installations
  • Lighting
  • Low energy / zero carbon technologies
 
Module 3
 
Understanding the RdSap software with online practical exercises and work sheets. This module includes two half-day 'hands-on' sessions in the Reading/Oxford/Birmingham areas. These sessions include a visit to a local property where an actual EPC is produced and later discussed over light refreshments.

  • Introduction to the RdSAP software
  • Practical EPC exercises
  • Data collection
  • Production of floor plans
  • Photographs
  • Property age and style 
 
Module 4
 
This, the final module, provides you with all of the necessary information to produce the five EPCs required for your portfolio of evidence.
